OFA Cardiac exam: NORMAL; OFA Hips: GOOD; OFA elbows: NORMAL. PennHIP: DI left: 0.44; DI right: 0.34; Thyroid: normal; CERF ineligible due to moderate cataract in her right eye. She has been evaluated at NC State School of Veterinary Medicine and found to have a cataract that resembles those commonly seen in retriever breeds. After 7 years of observation, without change or progression, our veterinary ophthalmologist believes this is likely congenital, but not inherited.
Fern is an outgoing, friendly girl with a wicked sense of humor. She is a true workaholic and loves to train in any venue. She has retired from the conformation ring, but continues to compete in Dock Diving and Rally Obedience. She has a beautiful level topline and proper coat length, with nice moderate angles. She loves to have her belly rubbed and never met a treat she didn't want. She is our Foundation bitch and mother to our first two litters, which produced strong conformation and performance dogs, including Mina and Nova (below).
Fern passed in September 2022 due to complications from cancer.

OFA Hips: GOOD; OFA Elbows: NORMAL. OFA thyroid: NORMAL; OFA Cardiac Exam: NORMAL; OFA eyes: previously ruled ineligible due to geographic retinal dysplasia. More recent evaluations of Haven and other dogs with similar eye findings have concluded that the retinopathy seen in Picards is NOT felt to represent a significant health issue and her findings are now "normal, with breeder option A3, Distichiasis.
Haven came to us from Anna Roy in France. We flew to Geneva to pick her up and fell in love immediately. She is sweet and a bit reserved with strangers, but warms up nicely. She is very biddable and lives to please. Her headpiece is lovely and her tail is nearly perfect. She loves to move! Unfortunately, during her first pregnancy, she developed a uterine infection and had to undergo emergency surgery to save her life. She now enjoys chasing balls and bugs in the yard, wrestling with Malcolm, and cuddling on the sofa.

Malcolm is a sweet and gentle male we were fortunate to get from Donna and Mike. He has had some lovely successes in the show ring, but it appears his true love is Rally Obedience! He is supremely sweet and handler-focused. He adores toys and puppies and is just lovely with other dogs of all sizes. He is the sire to our second litter, including Nova (below) and passes on his exceptional temperament to his puppies.

Nova was our pick puppy from our Malcolm x Fern litter. She is a confident, outgoing dog who shares her mother's work ethic and her father's lovely temperament. She is our second bred-by champion and needs only a few points to finish her Grand Championship. She is biddable and tries hard to please her handler in all venues. She has a show-stopping attitude and brings her all to everything she does. She has been started on sheep, ducks, goats, and turkeys; we expect very nice herding work from her, with a few more years and miles under her belt! Unfortunately, due to autoimmune thyroiditis (the canine equivalent of Hashimoto's thyroiditis, a form of hypothyroidism caused by autoantibodies), Nova will not be bred. She is a fantastic auntie and helps rear our litters, along with their mothers.

The New Additions! Photos coming soon...
From our Igor x Mina litter, we welcome Reesie (Ides of March Runs with Scissors) and Rafi (Ides of March Renaissance Man).
Reesie is a lovely, feminine fawn bitch with a beautiful expression and elegant angles. She is a breathtaking puppy and we cannot wait to see how she matures. She love toys and is sweet and biddable.
Rafi is a sturdy fawn male who favors his father. He suffered a tragic head injury at 4 weeks of age, but survived despite the odds being stacked against him. He continues to recuperate and his vets believe he will make a complete recovery. He loves to swim and we have incorporated that into his therapy sessions.
